Tooth Extraction
A surgical treatment is necessary in many cases. The most basic surgical procedure is the removal of a tooth (extraction). This intervention is the last option in the list of dental treatments, as the doctor has evaluated all other treatment possibilities, but they have not had positive results or indications. Tooth extraction is required when the tooth is broken due to trauma that has damaged its crown or root, when the apical infection is untreatable, for orthodontic reasons, periodontal pathology, when the tooth or teeth are retained in the jaw, erupted or unerupted supernumerary teeth, misaligned teeth, retained deciduous teeth, ankylosed milk teeth that prevent the normal eruption of permanent teeth in children, remaining tooth roots in the dental arch, etc.
In addition to tooth extractions in Tirana, as a surgical procedure at our ART DENT clinic, performed by specialized surgical doctors, we also offer:
Apical resection of anterior and posterior teeth
This is a procedure recommended when the tooth root is severely infected and endodontic methods cannot provide the desired result. This technique allows for the preservation of the tooth in the dental arch and prevents the spread of infection to the surrounding area of the root.
Crown lengthening
Crown lengthening is necessary for both aesthetic and prosthetic reasons. This procedure is performed by intervening on the gingiva and the surrounding bone.
Gum reshaping
For aesthetic improvement and a beautiful smile, gum reshaping involves restoring the normal anatomy of the gums when they are hyperplastic or inflamed. In these cases, the patient may notice visible changes in the shape, color, or level of the gums.

Repositioning of the upper and lower lip frenulum, and tongue frenulum
This procedure visibly improves speech-related issues. It corrects and prevents the advancement of diastemas (gaps between teeth). An overly pronounced lower lip frenulum can affect the visibility of the lower teeth roots.
Covering of exposed tooth roots
This issue is caused by periodontal diseases, occlusal trauma, the use of harsh toothbrushes, improper brushing techniques, and other factors. The procedure aims to cover the exposed roots and prevent further damage or sensitivity.
Alveotomy
This procedure involves removing a part of the jawbone to facilitate the extraction of an unerupted or partially erupted tooth. It is most commonly used for the removal of the last tooth.
Bone Grafting
When a portion of the jawbone has been completely lost due to trauma or severe resorption, bone grafting is performed. This involves adding artificial bone and analogs to rebuild the bone structure, making it possible to proceed with prosthetic restoration or the placement of implants.
Sinus Lift
After tooth extractions in the upper jaw, pneumatization of the maxillary sinuses and bone resorption can occur. To correct this defect, a procedure is performed to fill the area with artificial bone and a membrane. This technique creates suitable conditions for the placement of dental implants, which are inserted 6-9 months later, once the new bone has formed.
Split Crest
This procedure helps when the patient has sufficient bone height but insufficient thickness. It involves expanding the jawbone, filling it with artificial bone, and then placing the implant.
PRF – ( Plate Reach Fibrine )
Blood is drawn to produce fibrin, which helps accelerate the healing of wounds and protects the wound from infections. This technique uses the natural healing properties of the body’s own blood components to promote faster recovery.

Our mission as a dental team is to work together as a unified, compassionate group to provide the best care available for patients of all ages. At our dental clinic in Albania, we are committed to treating every patient with patience, kindness, and the highest standard of professionalism.
