10 tips for healthy teeth

  1. Brush your teeth regularly. This is the most essential for good oral health, healthy teeth and a happy smile. Proper care and cleaning of your teeth after each meal and before bed is essential, regular cleaning eliminates dental plaque, respectively tooth decay, cleans the gums and prevents their disease and freshens breath. Brushing your teeth should be done at least twice a day, before bed anyway.
  2. Clean your tongue. While brushing your teeth, don’t forget to clean your tongue. Dirt also stays on the tongue and these not only give bad breath, they can lead to other health problems and oral diseases. Gently brush your tongue with a brush every time you brush your teeth.
  3. Change toothbrushes regularly. Toothbrushes wear out over time. The aging of toothbrushes reduces their cleaning ability, so I recommend that you buy quality brushes and replace them every three months. When you buy a new toothbrush, you can mark the date of use on the corner of it, so it will be easier for you to remember that it is time to replace it. Also, replace them if you have had an infection or illness while using them.
  4. Use dental floss. The brush does not penetrate the narrow areas between the teeth, so every time before bed, you should use dental floss to remove debris between the teeth.
  5. Reduce liquids and sugars. Reduce carbonated liquids and foods that contain high amounts of sugar as much as possible. They are the biggest enemies of your teeth, eat as healthily as possible to have healthy teeth, fruits and vegetables should always be part of your diet.
  6. Quit smoking. This habit is quite dangerous and bad for your health and leads to many dental problems. Simply avoid smoking to avoid bad breath, tooth discoloration and, worst of all, oral cancer.
  7. Get rid of bad habits. Advise your children not to develop bad habits that negatively affect their teeth, such as thumb sucking, chewing toys, sleeping with bottles, cheating pacifiers, etc. All of these can lead to serious dental and jaw problems, so if you notice such habits in your children, stop them. I also advise parents not to chew on macchiato spoons.
  8. Fluorize their teeth. Fluoride plays a very important role in protecting and strengthening teeth, so it is necessary to apply dental fluoridation treatment. Fluoridation of teeth is one of the best ways to strengthen tooth enamel and make them stronger and more immune to acids that lead to tooth decay and cavities.
  9. Drink water regularly. Water is the best drink for your overall health – including oral health. Many new studies on oral health recommend drinking water after every meal. This can help wash away some of the negative effects of foods and drinks with dyes.
  10. Visit the dental clinic at least twice a year. Dental visits should be made not only when you have pain or problems with your teeth. Through a dental check-up, which is generally free in our country, you learn about the state of your oral health and can benefit from a minor intervention or professional cleaning instead of waiting for major damage that will make treatment more difficult and costly.
